Our local favourites for golden-hour wedding and pre-wedding photos – and how to make the most of them.
The best wedding photo spots in Uluwatu are Bingin beach (rock pools and sunset), Padang Padang (rock gateway and turquoise water), Suluban (sea caves), Melasti (white sand below towering cliffs) and the Uluwatu cliffs themselves. Shoot in the golden hour, the last hour before sunset.
Steps away from Bella Vida: a white-sand beach with rock pools, colourful surf shacks and wide sunset views. At low tide the reef reflects the sky – magical for silhouettes.
Famous from the film Eat Pray Love, reached through a narrow rock passage. Turquoise water, golden sand and cliffs on both sides – best on weekdays, late afternoon.

A hidden cove with dramatic sea caves and rock formations. Go at low tide – at high tide the caves fill with water.
A wide white beach below towering cut cliffs, with road access. Great for full-length dress shots and for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
Cliff-top viewpoints offer the classic shot of the couple against the endless ocean. Around Uluwatu Temple, long-tailed macaques live – keep sunglasses and flowers out of reach!

The golden hour: the last hour before sunset, roughly 17:00–18:30 depending on the month. The west-facing coast gets warm, soft light – use our date checker for your exact sunset time.
Casual photos are usually fine, but some beaches and temple areas charge an entrance or photography fee, and professional shoots with large equipment may need permission. Your photographer and planner arrange this.
Several beaches – Bingin, Padang Padang and Suluban – are reached by steep stairs. Wear comfortable shoes and change into your wedding shoes at the bottom. Melasti has road access and is easiest for older guests.

Ceremony in our garden, photos on Bingin beach five minutes away.
